The Dutch Society of Paediatric Dentistry (NVvK) has the great honor to host a regional meeting of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD) on 23 & 24 November, 2018. This meeting will be held in Eindhoven, the Netherlands and is organized in consultation with both the Belgian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (BAPD) and the German Society of Paediatric Dentistry (DGKiZ).
The theme of this conference will be “Exploring Borders; meet your neighbours” which, of course, illustrates the trinity of the organizing committee. Throughout a broad and comprehensive scientific programme it is explicated that within Paediatric and Special Care dentistry, borders and limitations are often met or exceeded. Regarding, for example, behaviour and cooperation of the child, technical possibilities, prevention, regulations or scientific evidence. We should open our eyes for our neighbouring colleagues, share experiences and learn from each other instead of judging the unknown.
Various topics will be intensively discussed by high profile and renowned international speakers. In the continuation with the theme, neighbours will meet each other on stage and discuss certain themes from different perspectives, various cultural backgrounds and other scientific evidence or clinical experience. Several workshops will be scheduled in a parallel session to practice new materials and devices or to go deeper into the subject matter of the keynote lecture. Young scientists are offered a parallel stage to expose their research and share experiences and ideas. In this session there will also be an opportunity to share clinical cases with each other. Also, a Dutch-spoken parallel programme will be provided.
This regional IAPD conference will benefit pediatric dentists, postgraduate dental students, general dental practitioners, oral hygienists and dental assistants. Please note that all registered dentists will become members of the IAPD for 2 years.
It gives us great pleasure to invite you all to join this unique Tri-Regional Meeting in Eindhoven which will be a fabulous appetizer for the 28th IAPD congress that will be held in Maastricht, The Netherlands, in 2021. After “Exploring the borders and meeting our neighbours” in Eindhoven this year, we will get ready to “Join Forces in Paediatric Dentistry” in Maastricht in 2021!
